This book aims to help you enjoy exploring our nature reserves and surrounding wild areas. Almost all our sites are open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, and public rights of way are always available to you. Our walking routes make it easy – well, as easy as the terrain allows!
Check out the map at the front of the book to find a wildlife walk near you!
-Explore 24 walking routes in 6 counties
-Visit 25 North Wales Wildlife Trust nature reserves
-Enjoy gentle strolls and whole-day rambles
-Full descriptive text and maps supplied
The guide is split into six sections reflecting the current counties and county boroughs of North Wales: Anglesey, Gwynedd, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham. There are 24 walks in total, varying from gentle strolls of little more than an hour to whole-day wild wanders. Each incorporates at least one North Wales Wildlife Trust nature reserve, the names of which form the walk titles.
Each walk listing begins with a short description of what to expect. It’s very important to judge your choice of walk according to the weather, your mobility and your experience. The total length of each walk (in hours, miles and kilometres) and the most appropriate 1:25,000-scale Ordnance Survey map are also highlighted, but please be aware that the duration is inevitably approximate. We’ve included our own maps, too – one either immediately precedes or follows each route description.
